JULIA TARANTO (B.Mus. Melbourne University)
Being of Italian background, music has always been a natural and important part of my life. My mother played the violin and two of my aunts attended the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney.
I learned piano from a young age and enjoyed performing at many concerts, eisteddfods and soirées. I studied piano, psychology and music therapy at the University of Melbourne (Melbourne Conservatorium) and after graduating worked as a music therapist in Sydney. I later trained with Yamaha Music Schools where I taught groups of children from four years of age. My piano teaching draws on all these elements of my background and training.

“There are so many ways that we can share music: from learning a piece with your teacher, supervising your child with practicing, to playing a piece for your family and friends, performing in concerts and various gatherings – all those forms can uplift our spirits and bring beautiful memories.” Julia T.
